The US Open T20, the first ma­jor crick­et tour­na­ment to be played in the Unit­ed States over two decades ago con­tin­ues to at­tract tremen­dous at­ten­tion and the up­com­ing draft card­ed for Oc­to­ber 25.

So far, the 2025 edi­tion has at­tract­ed 2334 reg­is­tra­tions from play­ers from the West In­dies and across the crick­et­ing world.

The tour­na­ment which is the brain­child of busi­ness­man Ma­ham­mad Qureshi has launched the ca­reers of sev­er­al peo­ple in­clud­ing lo­cal hero like Ali Khan.

The cash-rich tour­na­ment has been staged for more than two decades with Qureshi bank rolling it along the way.

The year’s tour­na­ment will take place at the Cen­tral Broward Re­gion­al Park and starts on De­cem­ber 12 with the fi­nals tak­ing place on De­cem­ber 20. A to­tal of six fran­chis­es will be fight­ing for ho­n­ours and they are Chica­go Catch­ers, DC Ea­gles, LA Li­ons, Dal­las Smash­ers, New York York­ers and Ve­gas High Rollers.

West in­dies and Trinidad and To­ba­go’s play­ers who took part last time in­clud­ed Lendl Sim­mons, Im­ran Khan, Trevon Grif­fith just to name a few.

Over 2,000 play­ers will be hop­ing to get in among the 84 play­ers that will be used for the tour­na­ment.

Speak­ing to Guardian Me­dia, Qureshi said, “We are hap­py with the fact that we can con­tin­ue to host this tour­na­ment in the Unit­ed States. It is the old­est tour­na­ment and one which has pro­duced the best play­ers here in the Unit­ed States.

“Re­cent­ly we have de­cid­ed to fo­cus a bit more on the de­vel­op­ment as­pect and bring in a num­ber of lo­cal play­ers to play along­side the in­ter­na­tion­al play­ers in or­der to gain the re­quired ex­pe­ri­ence to take the game to the next lev­el.

“We are hop­ing that we can as­sist in the de­vel­op­ment of play­ers to add to the in­creas­ing pool in or­der to as­sist the US Na­tion­al set up.” Some of the top play­ers who have graced this tour­na­ment in the past in­cludes Dwayne Bra­vo, Evin Lewis, Sunil Na­dine, Dar­ren Bra­vo, De­nesh Ramdin, Ali Khan, Jaskaran Mal­ho­tra just to name a few.”
