CAS­TRIES, St Lu­cia – In­ter­na­tion­al pair of Rasha­da Williams and Tr­is­han Hold­er have been draft­ed back in­to the squad of de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons, Bar­ba­dos Roy­als for this year’s Women’s Caribbean Pre­mier League (WC­PL).

Williams, the West In­dies Women’s wick­et­keep­er-bats­man from Ja­maica, and Hold­er, a 20-year-old emerg­ing Bar­ba­di­an bats­man who played the last of her nine Twen­ty20 In­ter­na­tion­als for West In­dies Women in Feb­ru­ary last year, were picked in the WC­PL Draft on Tues­day.

The in­ter­na­tion­al trio of Shabi­ka Gajn­abi, Cher­ry Ann Fras­er and Djen­a­ba Joseph, who were a part of Guyana Ama­zon War­riors last sea­son, were al­so picked by Roy­als, along with Bar­ba­di­an all-rounder Nai­jan­ni Cum­ber­batch.

The Ama­zon War­riors have stuck close to home and have draft­ed five Guyanese to com­plete their squad.

They Ash­mi­ni Mu­nis­ar, Shene­ta Grim­mond, Realean­na Grim­mond, Kaysia Schultz and Nyia Latch­mann, while Ja­maican pac­er Kate Wilmott has al­so got­ten a pick.

Trin­ba­go Knight Rid­ers, who had signed up the In­di­an duo of Jemimah Ro­drigues and Shikha Pandey ear­li­er this month, along with the Aus­tralian duo of Meg Lan­ning and Jess Jon­nasen, made five picks at the Draft to com­plete their squad.

They snapped up the re­tired in­ter­na­tion­al duo of left-hand­ed bats­man Kyshona Knight and off-spin­ner Anisa Mo­hammed, as well as all-rounder Chead­en Na­tion, and Shunelle Sawh and Jan­nil­lea Glas­gow.

The three-team tour­na­ment will be played from Au­gust 21-29 at the Bri­an Lara Crick­et Acad­e­my in T&T.
