Fresh off their victories in the men and women Open Divisions of the Trinbago Open Table Tennis Tournament, Aaron Wilson and Catherine Spicer, will spearhead this country's quest for top honours at the 60th Senior Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation Championship in Kingston, Jamaica.
The ten-member local contingent inclusive of Ian Joseph, the president of the T&T Table Tennis Association, left here early yesterday morning for Kingston for the tournament which serves off tomorrow until September 29 at the National Arena.
In addition to T&T and hosts Jamaica, the other participating countries are Barbados, French Guiana, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Antigua & Barbuda and Guyana.
Last year, T&T did not field a team in either of the men or women team events.
However, Canada-based former T&T champion, David Mahabir won the Over-45 Men's Singles while in the Open Men's singles, Mahabir and ArunRoopnarine were knocked out in the round-of-32 main draw, and in the Under-21 Men's Singles, Roopnarine was ousted in the last-16.
