I take the Michael Carew (Junior) trained filly The Big Squeeze to win the feature event for horses rated 80-50 over 1,800 metres on the main track, at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, today.
The 2012 Oaks Heroine has been running in consistently but today looks to be in a spot to register her first win of this season.
The Big Squeeze will be partnered by the in-form Nobel Abrego and must be the one to beat.
However, she will not have things her own way as the John O'Brien trained, beaver-trick seeking Diplomatic Cat is in great form. This horse has rattled up a hattick of wins and must have a chance of completing the four-timer, if The Big Squeeze fails to fire.
No Just Cause from the Glen Mohammed barn was unfortunate not to have won last week but will be tumbling down on the leaders in the final 200 metres.
The Lester Alexis trained Personal Exchange won well last time out and a repeat of that performance could see him in with a fighting chance. O'Brien also has Piston And Rings engaged and this horse will be ridden by the red-hot Wilmer Galviz. This horse could go close if reproducing that winning form.
