Curacao to host CaribNOG8
The Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG) and LACNIC will hold a joint meeting
at the Hilton Curacao from September 29 to October 3.
CaribNOG is a not-for-profit, independent, technical community that provides a regional forum for building technical capacity, sharing industry experiences and promoting relevant solutions for advancing network engineering in the Caribbean.
LACNIC, the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry, is an international non-government organisation established in Uruguay in 2002. It is responsible for assigning and administering Internet numbering resources such as IPv4 and IPv6 for the region. It is one of the five Regional Internet Registries that exist worldwide.
“The meeting will provide a forum where computer network technicians and technology professionals can share knowledge and experiences and participate in expert-led, high-tech training and hands-on technical workshops,” a statement from CaribNOG said.
“CaribNOG provides an excellent opportunity for network operators, businesses, governments, technology enthusiasts, and wider civil society to understand regional and global trends, and connect with peers from around the world.”
This will be CaribNOG’s eighth regional meeting and LACNIC’s sixth. It is expected to draw industry experts from across the region and around the world.
