This year, how­ev­er, Ruiz in­tends to take a step out of the kaiso are­na her­self and do more gospel and jazz mu­sic. She's not a kaison­ian, she tells me flat; she's a per­former. And hav­ing sung in the UWI Arts Chorale's Crazy For You in 2005 and in oth­er non-kaiso are­nas, she's con­vinced that mu­si­cal­ly, the sky is the lim­it for her."I did clas­si­cal mu­sic with Jes­sel Mur­ry [UWI Arts Chorale mu­si­cal di­rec­tor] last year. He said, 'Kizzy, wel­come to your new ca­reer.' I'm al­ways up for a chal­lenge, I'm al­ways up for ex­tend­ing my tal­ents. I've been so tak­en up with school and aca­d­e­mics, but this year I am go­ing to fo­cus on mu­sic. I can do any­thing I want mu­si­cal­ly."
