The new executive of the T&T Cosmetology Association was installed on March 28, when the organisation held its annual general meeting. Jennifer Maynard Jaimungal was voted president of the organisation while Natalie Clarke is vice president. Other members of the executive include secretary Paula Small, assistant secretary Nikesha Cudjoe, treasurer Wilma Woo, public relations officer Cleo Wells along with three directors Kim Aleong, Imtiaz Don Khan, Monica Headley and Anthony Medina as floor members. The Cosmetology Association represents beauticians, hairdressers, beauty therapists, aestheticians, nail technicians and barbers.

Cassandra Lopez, a Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) cosmetology graduate, walked away with the $2,000 cash prize in the Soft & Beautiful Ultimate Facebook challenge. Photos from the recent CCC annual hair and makeup competition, hosted at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, were posted on the brand’s Facebook Fanpage and visitors were then invited to “Like” their favourite photos.

In the end it was Lopez’s presentation “On Top the Bride,” modelled by Angel Phillip, that secured the most votes. Lopez thanked everyone for their support. “Thank you everyone for helping me win! “I could not have done it without your support.”

This is the second time the Soft & Beautiful brand has sponsored the organisation’s event. As a separate category in the competition, entrants were asked to create a hairstyle exclusively using styling products within the Soft & Beautiful Ultimate Style Protect line. Soft & Beautiful brand manager Asha Ceoline said the company was proud to be associated with the CCC event.
