It's holiday time again and this means a plethora of options when it comes to creating a fresh look with make up. MAC's senior make up artist and brand ambassador Gisel Calvillo, has the responsibility of ensuring that those in this part of the world remain abreast with the latest trends." I am the voice of the brand. I am one of 52 world wide" says Calvillo who represents MAC in the North and South Americas , including the Caribbean. Having joined the elite brand some eight years ago, Calvillo has had a backstage pass to numerous fashion shows and has been able to hone her craft having attended Fashion week in Milan, Paris , Brazil and New York, where she has been observing trends and even duplicated the hottest looks for some of the world's most sought after supermodels.Last Friday, WomanWise caught up with Calvillo last Friday at the in- store demonstration of the latest looks at MAC, West Mall.In discussing the hottest "summer" trends on the market, Calvillo revealed that there are four new looks each fitting for the confident woman, the more laid back gal, or maybe the shy girl who wants to remain "au naturel."
Here are Cavillo's tips for getting the new looks
TREND - TERRA COPPER
This look is based on the bronze goddess, who is tough yet sexy, bold but subtle. " It's very studio 54 but instead of doing it with a bright palette, you are using earth tones to bring about a soft sultry look" says Calvillo.
Tips
• Use GUILTY BRONZE on apples of the cheek
• Apply with stick and softly blend it out with brush 188.
TREND - POP CLASSICS
As the name indicates, this is definitely a knock out, using colours that definitely 'pop'. " Pop Classics is all about electric, bold, dense colour" Gisel reveals. " You can use it to create a strong eye, lip or both. Its for the confident girl who likes colour."
Tips
• Use a Ruby Woo or Morange coloured lipstick for the lips.
• Apply the Eel Eyeshadow to the eyes.
TREND - RAW FINED
For the woman who likes to keep it simple, this trend is definitely for you. " It's about wearing nude or minimal make up. It's for hydrated skin that's well illuminated and healthy"
Tip
• Use Mineralised Slain Finish Foundation and Fix Plus
