What is hair?

Hair isn't just thread like projections that grows straight out of our scalp, but it is indeed our crown of glory that we definitely need to take care of. Our hair totally finishes our daily looks, so let us journey into the avenue of terminating bad hair days. Maintaining healthy luscious locks goes beyond tedious routines of pasting tons of topical products along our tresses. Healthy beautiful hair begins within. Daily intake of dietary supplements and the inclusion of fresh vegetables and fruits are just as or more important than overloading our hair with hair emollients and conditioners. Our body needs to be healthy in order for our hair to be healthy.

Reason being, hair obtains its nourishment from the root. Within the root, the hair formation takes place at the bulb, which is like a womb if so to speak. The blood supply surrounding the bulb provides nutrients to promote optimum growth and healthy hair. This is why scalp manipulations and massages are very important. When the scalp is stimulated, the blood is circulated; it provides nutrients to the hair and promotes hair growth. A prized tip is to hold small portions of the hair approximately one inch away from the scalp and pull upward with medium tension. Repeat the process throughout the head; do not use too much tension to pull your strands out of your head. A rhythmical circular motion throughout the scalp is also a great technique but of course it is more relaxing to have someone to do it for you.

Water is another crucial factor that influences the health of hair. Our bodies are composed of 60 to 70 percent of water. Hair are like plants that needs to be watered daily. The recommended consumption of water isn't just 8 glasses of water a day, but half of our body weight in ounces of water and a bit more if you are residing in an extremely hot climate. Some essential supplements that aids in the longevity of our hair are vitamin Bs, Ds, omega 3s just to name a few. Quick fix routines are temporary, not permanent. These tips are most beneficial when it is fashioned as a lifestyle and not a fad and you will see noticeable improvements.
