Presenting a great face to the world does not have to be a time consuming and frustrating ritual as most women may imagine. Many women shy away from the numerous steps and products they assume would be needed to pull off a look, so much so, that they just opt for dabbing on some lip-gloss and powder or wear no makeup at all.
Putting on a great face with minimal effort is quite simple, if you think smart. If you have flawless skin, you may only need a light powder, on the other hand, if you have blemishes on your skin, a creamy foundation would be best suited to you. For oily skin types, I recommend water based liquid foundations.
Very often I do not have the luxury of lots of time to apply my own makeup so my daytime routine goes something like this.
1 Apply cream foundation to my skin with my fingers, yes I said it, my fingers, this way I am able to manipulate the product to mimic my own skin in a very short amount of time.
2 Then I apply a quick dusting of translucent powder with a brush, to set the foundation.
3 Fill in my eyebrows with a brow pencil, line my upper lid with brown eyeliner, add a touch of blush and lip-gloss and I am done.
4 I usually skip the mascara in the daytime, only because I do not like the feel of it. This takes me all of five minutes.
On my model Marisa Mahadeo, the application was extremely simple as I did not have a lot of time to play around with for her shoot.
• Cream foundation in Rich Caramel was applied to her skin with a foundation brush and micro-fine translucent powder was dusted to matte the face.
• Her eyebrows were filled in with an espresso brow powder, hues of pinks and purples were blended onto the eyelids, black eye pencil rimmed the eyes and black mascara topped it all off.
• For Marisa's blush, I swished on a pinkish brown blush and added a touch of pink lip-gloss and she was off to be photographed in just about ten minutes.
