Legend has it that false eyelashes were invented in 1916 by Hollywood movie director D.W. Griffith. It was said that he commissioned a wig maker to fashion lashes from human hair for his lead actress in the movie 'Intolerance'. He apparently wanted the lashes to be dramatic, full and long enough to sweep on her cheeks and interestingly enough he was also the person who coined the phrase 'lights, camera, action'.
Strip false eyelashes can be more dramatic and noticeable than individual false eyelashes, they are easier to apply and are to be worn for a couple hours or even a day at best, they are a perfect choice when you want to add some drama to your occasion. These falsies come in a huge array of colours, shapes, textures, lengths, some with crystals, feathers and other embellishments, so it is entirely up to you to decide just how much drama you want to add to your moments.
HOW TO APPLY FAUX EYELASH STRIPS 1. Apply a thin line of adhesive to the lash band and allow it to become 'tacky'. 2. Place strip close to the natural lash line as possible starting at the outer corner of the eye. 3. Once the outer corner adheres, then work inwardly, pressing lashes to lash line until the entire strip is affixed. 4. Curl and apply mascara to lashes after your have applied strips.
HOW TO REMOVE FAUX LASHES Any good eye make-up remover will work. Apply remover to a cotton bud and run against the lash strip until it loosens, then gently lift the strip and pull away from the eye lid. You can actually re-use strip eyelashes if you clean and store them properly. To clean strips, soak them in warm, soapy water to remove glue, use tweezers to pull off any stubborn glue particles. Dry and comb strips with a brow brush and then store them back in their cases for another occasion.
