Caribbean Fashionweek, the Caribbean’s premier fashion and style event was held this year at the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston, Jamaica, June 7-11. Here is a review of the latest collection ‘Collage’ by Designer Saleem Samuels. Saleem has been in the Fashion Industry for the past twenty years as both a Fashion Designer and Fashion Coordinator. He has featured several of his own fashion collections during this span of time. His designs have also been featured in Barbados, St. Kitts and Brooklyn Fashion Week and have continued to grow in both men’s and women’s ready to wear garments. Saleem’s collection ‘Collage” focuses on designs for both females and males. Collage is a combination of full blown sophistication and flair blended into a melting pot with a hint of Latin American flavor comprising of bold colours, graphic patterns and new shapes which translates into designs that are modern, edgy and aesthetically pleasing. Specifically catered to today’s women who are chic and desires concrete elegance. Men in single breasted two and three button suits made out of peau-di-sioe satin in colours that command attention and tailoring to compliments the frame of a man. The reinvention of jumpers that are masculine, athletic and easy to wear.
