POS, Trinidad & Tobago (September 18, 2012) – Revlon Trinidad for the second year running is running a campaign combining fashion and makeup in order to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. This year the campaign name is 'Go Pink!' and Revlon selected the image of a butterfly to form part of the Go Pink logo. "We decided on the butterfly because of the symbolic elements of rebirth and metamorphosis. We recognise that often having gone through treatment for breast cancer, loss of the things that often define a woman's beauty such as the breasts or hair can challenge a woman's self-esteem and sense of her own attractiveness, the butterfly represents emerging from that into a new confidence, sense of beauty and feeling of freedom," said Revlon Brand Manager, Marie Iles. Revlon has joined with noted fashion designer Meiling to create a beautiful, branded, hand dyed, pink and white, beach sarong. Consumers simply need to spend $200 or more in Revlon cosmetic products at participating stores in order to receive their free designer sarong. For every sarong given away Revlon together with participating retailers will donate a total of $10.00 to the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society.
The promotion is scheduled to start on 1st October 2012 and will be supported by a press campaign shot by Laura Ferreira and featuring, swimwear from Sandra Hordatt's Moodswings collection. The radio ad will again be voiced by Radio and TV personality Leasel Rovedas. Participating stores will include, SuperPharm, Starlite, Kappa, Ali's, selected branches of Pennywise, Bhagans, Bel Air stores, Glendale's, Body Perfection, Pharmacy World, Cosmetic Market, Princesses cosmetics, Valini's Drug Mart, Blush Cosmetics, Emdads, Young's, One Stop Beauty Essentials and White Diamonds Cosmetics. Since 1990, Revlon has championed women's health by devoting financial and employee resources to help raise more than $75 million in support of medical research programs, physician training, clinical care, education and awareness of women's cancers. Funds raised have contributed to scientific research to combat women's cancer, including the creation of the breakthrough breast cancer drug, Herceptin. Revlon USA's current campaign for cancer month features broadcast and print executions focused on the message: "Your Lips Can Save Lives," encouraging women to talk about cancer and the importance of early detection. The campaign stars Revlon Global Brand Ambassadors Halle Berry and Emma Stone, along with Stone's mother, Krista Stone, who is a triple negative breast cancer survivor.
