Makeup by Dianne John
One of the makeup looks trending on the fashion circuit this Spring/Summer 2013 season is sure to be a huge favourite with women around the world who adore natural, bronzy looking makeup. "It's almost as if you're seeing makeup through skincare.
Within this palette, there is a sophisticated return to the smoky eye that is more effortless and transparent. Fashion wants a darker eye that is not cheap and tacky." says .A.C Cosmetics UK Director of makeup Terry Barber.
This look is a puritan, gently applied and vitally gleaming approach to bronze which defines this makeup trends' relationship with the tan. Features are brought out in a palette of desert shades that reference Californian girls via a 60s and Bedouin vision, transparently tinted in washes of cream colour adding a sophisticated monochrome feel to the face that taps into a woman's femininity.
The new smart sepia metallic works with the glow of the skin and gently partakes in the shaping of facial features. Eyes with the impression of squinting into the sun, bronze with an almost aquatic effect, golden, honey-beige tones, almost imperceptible, sepia tones and blown out browns all buffed and burnished. There is nothing masculine, hard or linear about the way these colours wrap around the bone structure and cup the features. Seamless shades of warm gold and wheat, highlights and wrap around the features of the face. This much more nuanced and subtle treatment of the skin replaces the harder, face -changing sculpting of last season.
The Puritan look finds its way on the fashion runways of the world this season and on the faces of the gorgeous models for fashion designers the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, House of Holland, Alberta Ferretti, Sung and Zac Posen to name a few. The essentials must-haves this season to polish on your own Puri-Tan looks would include, Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid, Taupe Shape powder blush, Top Soil and Must Have Brown eye shadows, Posh Tone Lipstick and Summer Sweetheart Lipglass.
