Summer is here and hot as ever. With the 'bronzy' glow making its debut again, the new term around the globe is the Sun-kissed Glow.
SUN PROTECTION IS KEY
Using a bronzing powder to the face and body is a healthier option than tanning heavily in the sun, and also being affected by those free radical rays of UVA-UVB that can be harmful and cause skin damage to many. With a plethora of sun care products on the market that have core ingredients to tackle those harmful rays (and providing protection against the sun), the best defense first is to protect with a facial and body sunscreen that is not oily and non-blocking. The best are full spectrum products that help to reduce your risk of skin damage.
GET YOUR BRONZE ON
Enhance your look with a light dusting of bronzing powder all over the face with very low shimmer content. A good rule of thumb is never use a sponge when applying a bronzer to your face; you will get an uneven distribution of powder to the face. It is better to use a blush, kabuki or tight bristle powder brush when applying your bronzer to your skin or body. Caribbean women reflect a multitude of tones in their skin, so look for a bronzer that has little more gold, orange or red so you do not get an ashy look to the skin. But if you have a lighter skin tone you want to stay away from the orange because it could look to heavy on the skin. To compliment the bronzed look, I would highly recommend using a peach, coral or orange-red shade on the eyes and lips and finish with a thickening and lengthening mascara in black. Also, line your eyes with green, gold, chocolate or black eyeliner, and voila! You have a hot bronzer effect to your face.
We are constantly seeing superstars such as Rhianna, Ciara, Beyonce, JLO, Eva Mendes and Heidi Klum (to name few), that work that VIBE Beauty bronzer magic to their face.
Remember, sculpting your facial features is key to achieving contrast, creating hollow space and defining the jowls and cheek bones. Simply use your thumb to feel the height of your bones on your face and any deeper areas that create shadow or definition to your face. Those are the key areas where you can contour, define and add strength to the face. Another trick is from the centre of your cheekbones you can imagine a "V" extending down to the middle of your lips; that will be your guide to contour below and highlight above on the face.
GLOBALLY NATURALCURLS ARE BACK
To finish your makeup look, the hottest summer hair trend this year is to embrace your curls. Beach waves are back with vengeance, with hairstyles sporting fish tail curls to one side and the crown where a braid is located wrapped around the top of the forehead and diffused natural hair waves. Kelly Rowland (formerly of Destiny's Child) is proving Natural Curls rock the stage and is a rapidly growing trend. However, due to the curl and wave in the hair, natural sebum has difficulty coating the entire hair shaft which leads to drier and more brittle hair, leading to the number one complaint among people with curly hair; breakage.Vibe Beauty Natural Curl Therapy addresses this curl trend with sulphate free formulas, cocoa crme fragrance and a Tri-complex formula with Coconut, Olive Oil and Argan Oil to nourish the hair and with a Smart Protein Complex formulation technology that targets damaged hair, aids in repairing and strengthening damaged hair; and most importantly conditions and moisturises curly or wavy hair with a high shine finish.Summer is about having fun and feeling the heat, so let your inner beach Vibe loose as you enjoy the beach heat, and create your own bronzed glow with natural curls.
