Simply Gorgeous 2012

Sunday, January 1, 2012

The dawning of this New Year 2012, brings with it hopefulness, curiosity and for some, trepidation of what the year will hold for us all on this big, blue, marble we call planet earth.  Many of us made New Year resolutions just yesterday and hope to keep our plans and goals on a steady course to success.

I am such a person whose dreams and ambitions are never quieted, so I look forward to this New Year with excitement and joy because I know despite what comes my way, I will stay my course with perseverance, peace and most importantly, prayer. Not to mention, a whole lot of new make-up trends and advice to share with you. Today I chose to begin my writings for 2012, by highlighting one of the most amazingly symmetrical and naturally gorgeous faces I have had the pleasure to work on, Keisha Bertrand.  With clean and unblemished skin, Keisha is blessed with good genes but she also drinks a lot of water in order to keep her skin and body hydrated. With such a  smooth and supple canvas  to work on, I decided to let her own natural beauty shine through her make-up by doing a super simple application and using very neutral colours of taupes and corals to highlight her own extremely stunning features.

How to get this look: Keisha’s face was softly brushed with MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15, a creamy foundation in NC42 and then lightly dusted with Select Sheer loose powder in NC 40. Eyebrows were feathered in with a brow pencil in Stud and groomed with a spoolie brush. Brow bone was highlighted with a soft touch of Misty and eyes were lined with Mac’s eye pencil in Stubborn Brown and softened with a brush. Eyes were swept with Misty, a pale silver in the inner corner and Seasonal Cool, a sparkling taupe on the outer eye area and blended well. Her cheeks were blushed with Peachykeen blush. Lips lined with a neutral brown liner in Hover and filled in with a creamy lip-gloss in Peach Coral. A quick swipe of mascara in Black completed this simply gorgeous New Year look.
