?Quick work by Eastern Division detectives resulted in the arrest of two thieves early yesterday morning. Police said around 2 am, a watchman on duty at the Cross Cutters Supermarket, George Street, Sangre Grande, was on duty when five armed men came out from a heavily-tinted car and entered the premises. The assailants tied up the watchman and broke into the supermarket, making off with a large quantity of groceries.
The watchman, however, managed to free himself and immediately called proprietor Anil Ali. Police officers discovered the getaway car abandoned in Arima. Acting on information, the homes of the two suspects were searched and grocery items were found. Up to late yesterday afternoon, two men, ages 36 and 38, were assisting police with investigations.
