Despite my joy at Kamla Persad-Bissessar becoming the country's first female Prime Minister, there is something that has upset me. Certain radio stations are carrying on about Patrick Manning and the PNM, instead of congratulating Persad-Bissessar and the coalition. They indulge in talk to bring down the People's Partnership and Persad-Bissessar rather than accept and embrace this historic moment in T&T. Why are they still going on and on about the PNM? Didn't they have eyes to see what was happening in the country? I am willing to bet that they are the same people who complain about the rising food prices.
Why are some people in this country so short-sighted and can't face and accept reality? Some of the callers were even upset that people voted against the PNM. These people have to understand the there is something called freedom of choice. Who are they to tell people who to vote for? They are so blinded by party loyalty that the PNM could do whatever it wants. They would complain and be angry about the decisions made but would still turn around and vote for the PNM. People of Trinidad, wake up and smell the future. We have to start thinking like adults rather than little children who get upset when they don't get their own way.
