Hon­duras ral­lied from a two-goal deficit to de­feat vis­it­ing Cos­ta Ri­ca 3-2 in an Un­der-20 in­ter­na­tion­al foot­ball friend­ly on Tues­day at the Es­ta­dio Car­los Mi­ran­da, Co­mayagua, Hon­duras.

Both teams were us­ing the match as con­tin­ued prepa­ra­tions for the Con­ca­caf Un­der-20 Cham­pi­onship in Cos­ta Ri­ca from Feb­ru­ary 17 to March 5.

Andy Reyes and Pablo Ar­boine struck in the first half for the vis­i­tor, but Hon­duras stormed back af­ter the break with three un-an­swered goals through Dar­ixon Vuel­to (53rd), Car­los Pine­da (75th) and Rem­brandt Flo­res, three min­utes in­to time added on. Both sides will meet again tonight at the same venue.

The T&T Un­der-20 men's team will come up against Cos­ta Ri­ca in their sec­ond Group C match of the 12-team com­pe­ti­tion at the Na­tion­al Sta­di­um on Feb­ru­ary 22nd, three days af­ter kick­ing off its cam­paign at the Ri­car­do Sapris­sa Sta­di­um ver­sus Bermu­da.

Group a com­pris­es Cana­da, Mex­i­co, Hon­duras and An­tigua & Bar­bu­da while USA, Pana­ma, Haiti and St Kitts/Nevis are in Group B.

The T&T squad which is cur­rent­ly in­volved in a res­i­den­tial train­ing camp in Cali, Colom­bia with coach Bri­an Williams will end of its round-robin group cam­paign against El Sal­vador on Feb­ru­ary 25th.

Last Sun­day, Williams, along with his coach staff and 26 play­ers left for Cali where they are ex­pect­ed to play up to five train­ing match­es against lo­cal Pro­fes­sion­al clubs in Colom­bia, and pos­si­bly a game against the Colom­bia na­tion­al Un­der-20 team af­ter which the T&T coach will name his fi­nal 20-man squad for the Con­ca­caf Fi­nals.
