In preparation for the 20th edition of La Fete de la Musique in 2014, the Alliance Fran�aise of T&T is presenting the Exclusive Concert Series. The first edition took place in October, with a performance by Dean Williams, featuring Anthony Woodroffe. The next edition, on November 30, will feature singer-songwriter Gillian Moor.The concert series, staged at the Alliance's base on Alcazar Street in St Clair, aims to let the public discover the vibrant and eclectic sounds of local artistes and musicians.The intimate setting offers a chance to get up close and personal with the artists over a complimentary glass of wine.
Gillian Moor, a founding member of the rapso group Homefront, has performed solo, with her characteristic acoustic guitar, for almost two decades. She staged the Songshine open mic concert series from 2004-2010.Critics have praised her unique voice and poetic lyrics. Her work reveals eclectic influences, including calypso, folk, alternative and blues, and explores the links between music, emotion and spirituality.Moor has performed in Paris, London, Jamaica, Venezuela and Dominica, as well as T&T.Saturday's concert will also feature a guest appearance by flautist Ruth Osman.Alliance Fran�aise's Exclusive Concert Series continues every other month until June 2014.
