Tobagonians Ty Abraham and Akiel Duke played "down to the wire" in Sunday's Boys under 18 Singles final in the Lease Operators Limited Junior Tennis Tournament at the Trinidad Country Club, Maraval. Abraham defeated Duke 6-4, 6-7 and 11-9 in the super tie break to be crowned the champion. Abraham defeated his twin brother Joshua in Saturdays semifinal to advance to the final.
The victory saw Abraham gained revenge after losing in three close sets to Duke in the under-18 semifinals of the Catch National Junior Championships back in April. Dominique Coutain claimed the girls under 16 title when she defeated Celine Ramsumair 6-3, 7-5 in the under-16 final. Girls Under-14 title was claimed by Emma Rose Trestrail, after an easy victory against Elise Ache 4-1, 4-1. Trestrail was dominant in the semifinal as she defeated Samantha Melville 4-0, 4-1 Ryan Thomas, served Clint Singh 4-0, 4-0 in the Boys Under-14 Singles.
