Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives, Housing and the Environment Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal says Ken Valley was a very cordial and supportive MP. Valley died at his Pt Cumana home yesterday morning with colon cancer. He was 63. Moonilal said Valley was one of the more outspoken ministers and was very accommodating to then Opposition MPs.
Moonilal said he learnt a lot from Valley over the past several years while they served together in Parliament.
He was a formidable debater, who always listened to what MPs had to say in the debates," Moonilal said.
Moonilal recalled the many occasions when after marathon sittings on Fridays, Valley would invite all MPs to his St James establishment for a beverage and to enjoy a game of cards. Meanwhile the public relations officer of the PNM's Diego Martin Central constituency, Anthony Hepburn said a prayer service in Valley's memory will be held at 1 Orchid Drive, Petit Valley tonight.
