Former prime minister Patrick Manning yesterday called on Transport Minister Jack Warner to resign.Warner has been suspended by world football body FIFA after allegations of bribery.Manning made the call as he addressed a large crowd at Harris Promenade, San Fernando, at the culmination of his seven-day walk against his suspension from Parliament two Mondays ago.He charged that Warner's "conduct has not been a credit to T&T and he ought to demit office as fast as possible, pending the investigation."He added that if Warner failed to do so, then Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar must remove him forthwith from the Cabinet.He said, however, that Persad-Bissessar might be "afraid to do so, since Warner claimed he had files on all of them.Manning said when he was suspended from Parliament, he walked from Port-of- Spain to San Fernando.Now that Warner was suspended as FIFA's vice-president in Zurich, he said, "Let me see my boy walk."Also attending the public meeting were PNM MPs Alicia Hospedales and Dr Amery Browne, and former ministers Mustapha Abdul-Hamid and Gary Hunt.
