Former UNC leader Basdeo Panday believes Works Minister Jack Warner cannot remain in the PP Government with credibility any longer. Commenting on the situation concerning fresh revelations about Warner, he added: "The Integrity Commission may probably be interested in whether he has declared this FIFA income we have now heard about.
"I'd have thought the Prime Minister would have no choice now but to ask him to resign. How can the public be expected to continue to accept his presence presiding over billions of dollars worth of taxpayers funds with the current situation facing him?"
Panday added: "A resignation from Warner will give the Government an opportunity to start afresh but one wonders if the Prime Minister has the guts to do it." He said he believed Warner "made a deal" with FIFA to resign on the probe into bribery allegations. T&T Transparency Institute's Richard Joseph said the institute was maintaining its call for Warner to step down while any probes into his situation were ongoing. (GA)
