An electrician, of Kerr Trace, Morvant, was shot dead on Wednesday night, taking the murder toll to 297. Police said Karl Alexander Babb was on his way home when he was attacked and shot. He was the 27th person murdered since the state of emergency was declared on August 21. A report said sometime between 9 pm and 10 pm, Babb was walking through a dark track when residents heard loud explosions. They checked and found his body on the track.
Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force and the Homicide Bureau responded. Residents told police they did not see anyone enter or leave the track after Babb was shot. Morvant residents said there had been no electricity in the community for several hours that night. On Tuesday night, Clevon Sebastian, 37, of Sunshine Avenue, was shot dead in San Juan. Homicide officers are continuing investigations into both killings.
