Had it been a "battle of the sexes" women would have won hands down. Last Sunday's Bollywood C2K11 (UWI's annual all-inclusive Carnival Fete) attracted beautiful women of all descriptions, including two Miss Universe winners, Janelle Penny Commissiong-Chow and Wendy Fitzwilliams, and former Miss World Giselle La Ronde-West. Then there were other beauty queens and models, designers and many of the beautiful people in fashion and show business.
Heading the dignitaries in attendance were President George Maxwell Richards and his wife, Dr Jean Ramjohn-Richards, and daughter Maxine Richards; politicians Wade Mark, Anand Ramlogan, Dr Tim Gopeesingh, Nan Rodrawatee Ramgoolam, Lyndira Ouditt, Rudy Indarsingh, Donna Cox and Gary Griffith; and, of course, Prof Clement Sankat, principal, St Augustine Campus, UWI, and Prof Rhoda Reddock, deputy principal, UWI, St Augustine.
UWI's all-inclusive Carnival fete is held annually to source revenue for the campus Endowment Fund.
Ensuring that everyone in attendance had a great time, music and entertainment were supplied Roy Cape All Stars, Karma, Kes the Band, Dil-e-Nadan, Benjai, David Rudder and others. The party was held in perfect weather on the grounds of the campus principal's office, UWI, St Augustine.
