The testimony of the State's main witness in the preliminary inquiry into Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal's murder caused massive traffic gridlock leading into Port-of-Spain this morning.
While there are usually traffic restrictions for weekly hearings of the case at the Port-of-Spain Magistrate's Court, the T&T Police Service (TTPS) imposed extra measures today as the witness started to give evidence.
In addition to blocking the streets in front of the courthouse, no parking was allowed on St Vincent Street between Gordon and Duke Streets from 3 am to 11 am.
The restrictions had a domino effect, as traffic along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway backed up all the way to Trincity in the east and there was also heavy traffic into the city from central and south Trinidad.
