A new specially designed wheelchair–the "Eggie"–makes it possible to access many nature trails and environmentally beautiful areas in Trinidad and hopefully soon in Tobago. This wheelchair can go safely "off-road". A prototype of the all-terrain wheelchair was provided to the Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust by Subert Gilbert in memory of his brother, who was paralysed from his head to foot.

The Trust is the first place that built a boardwalk to allow wheelchair users to enjoy the beauty of the facility and be part of the educational programme being offer, Gaskin said. "We wanted no one to be left behind."
