The Rotary Club of Princes Town has awarded the club’s highest honour for yeoman service to two outstanding members of their community.
At a virtual ceremony earlier this month, foundation director Dr Lindsey Aziz and Nabeel Mohammed, a Form six student of Naparima College, were made Paul Harris fellows.
Dr Aziz, who is assigned to the Princes Town District Hospital, worked the frontlines to combat the COVID 19 pandemic despite medical challenges.
She also works with the Interact Club as a liaison officer on mental health challenges and to coach club projects at the Cowen Hamilton Secondary, St Stephen’s College, and Princes Town West Secondary School.
President of the club Rishi Ramlogan said Dr Aziz was recognised “for her humanitarian efforts to reduce the spread of the virus and her continued commitment to helping persons in need through the Rotary Foundation.”
Ramlogan said Mohammed made the merit list last year for Computer Sciences in the CAPE exam. He has volunteered with the club and has been a long-standing member for the last ten years.
