Republic Bank Ltd recently launched its Diploma in Business Management programme at its head office on Park Street, Port-of-Spain.
The programme is in partnership with the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (ALJGSB) and will focus on core business subjects including: human resource management and the management of people for performance, governance and ethics, financial accounting and economics and information technology, among others.
Addressing the audience, which comprised of managers, management associates and senior supervisors, Republic Bank's managing director David Dulal-Whiteway, explained the significance of the diploma programme and how it will assist in realising the organisation's wider objective.
"Knowledge is power, by making this most recent investment in you-the staff- we are putting the power to succeed and the power to truly make a difference for our staff and customers, directly into your hands," he said.
Also present at the launch were members of the bank's executive management team, ALJGSB executive director Professor Miguel Carillo and co-ordinator of the diploma programme, Gayathri Selvam.
Professor Carrillo, spoke on effective learning and leadership, as he thanked the bank for partnering with the school. The leadership stream will emphasis skills in emotional intelligence, leading change, innovation, decision-making, problem solving, building relationships, alliances, mentoring and coaching.
The year-long programme will be facilitated by the ALJGSB's faculty of lecturers and facilitators.
