As a shareholder and past general manager of the TnT Mirror, I would like to apologise to the family of Lionel Coker, the Tobago politician who died last week.
Speaking for other family members, including the widow of the founder of the Mirror, Cecilia Chookolingo, we are outraged and appalled at the insensitivity shown to the family of Mr Coker, by publishing a nude photograph of his body on the front page of the Weekday edition of the paper, sold on Wednesday, April 29.
We are calling on the current management of the Mirror to publish an equally prominent apology to the Coker family, to the hardworking journalists at the Mirror, and to the nation as a whole.
Rex Chookolingo
