You would have thought that with the introduction of the speed gun that breaking the speed limit would have been a thing of the past. The record shows that after the introduction of the speed gun there were over seven hundred charged with breaking the law within a six weeks period. Now that is only those who were caught and in no way the entire country could off been under surveillance twenty four hours.
To date the behaviour of some of our citizens continues to be the same, with no regard for the law. While Mr Hinds made mention of a decrease in this excessive speeding that is dependent on the hours you are out there.
On weekend the highways is still a racing track especially for those who are coming from a lime and live out of town. It is clear to see that the fine is of no consequence to some so in that case raise it to the place where they will have to think again before breaking the law and endangering the lives of law abiding citizens.
Now if there is no drastic change in this area take it up another level, the suspending of your license or a short term in prison. People must be made to understand that laws are put there to protect them and others who live in the same society as themselves.
No one is above the law and whether they are in agreement or not they still have to comply or stand the consequences of not doing so.
