Perish the thought that a non-lawyer like myself should pass my mouth on the Chief Justice controversy. Even newly minted lawyers, just qualified, should keep out of big people business. Unless you are Senior Counsel or employed with a very well-established chambers and making plenty money, keep out of it. The man in the street is only concerned with not having to wait ten years to hear a case.
It is to be noted that anything to do with the CJ is heard in quick time. Not as if he has to wait years upon years and borrowing money to pay lawyers’ fees. Life was never meant to be fair.
I say that if big people, and I mean judges and so, want to square off on each other, that is not small people business. This is T&T which is a total democracy where it is either people ‘like your head’ or they do not.
Small people are concerned only about how long you have to wait to be judged if found with three marijuana cigarettes of something that got into their bag by mistake.
This is how the world turns in T&T where Seepaul’s luck is definitely, definitely, not Gopaul’s luck.
I rest my case.
