Police arrested 11 people and seized three firearms, drugs, and ammunition during a raid in Arouca.
During the exercise, officers received information and proceeded to four locations in the Arouca district where the officers seized one black and chrome revolver with two rounds of .38 ammunition, one black and chrome Jericho 941 Israel Military Industry pistol fitted with one magazine and five rounds of 9mm ammunition, and one black Taurus .45 Raging John Magnum Revolver pistol.
The officers also found 27 packets containing cocaine which weighed 575 grams, as well as carcasses of wild meat in a refrigerator.
The individuals were arrested for various offences—possession of an apparatus, possession of cocaine, and being found in a place where dangerous drugs are used.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt David, ASP Gyan, acting Insp Pitt and supervised by acting Cpl Gordon, acting Cpl Ali, PC Hall and included a party of officers of the Major Operations Unit and Canine Unit.
