Two men are currently assisting Tobago police with their investigations into the discovery and seizure of a quantity of marijuana on board the Cabo Star inter-island ferry on Monday night.
According to a police report, during the period of 7 and 10.45 pm, officers conducted a spot check exercise at the Scarborough Port, Scarborough, where the discovery was made.
Cpl Harris and officers assigned to the Tobago Divisional Task Force, assisted by the Canine Unit, reportedly boarded the vessel and conducted a search, where they found and seized five kilogrammes of marijuana hidden between pallets.
A 32-year-old labourer of Woodbine Street, Maraval and a 38-year-old driver of Robert Street, Canaan, Tobago, were arrested in connection with the find. The duo is expected to be charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The operation was coordinated by ASP Joseph and supervised by Sgt Stewart.
