A 31-year-old man, who was stabbed multiple times and had his throat cut during a home invasion at a relative’s house in Arima on Thursday, is now said to be in a stable condition at hospital.
According to a police report, the man, who is from Crossings, Arima, was at a relative’s house at Hugh Seepersad Street (off Beckles Lane) at about 12:45 pm on Thursday 21 January 2021, when two masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun, entered the home and announced a robbery.
The suspects then proceeded to tie the victim’s hands and feet, gag him, and place him in the bathroom area of the house. The men then cut his throat with a knife and stabbed him approximately 18 times about his body. Police said the suspects then escaped.
The victim, police said, was able to untie himself and contact the police, who arrived shortly after.
The responding officers also took the victim to the Arima Hospital where he was treated and subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he was warded in a stable condition.
