A four-year-old boy drowned in a family pool in Couva, the third such incident involving a child in the space of a month.
Reports indicate that the child, Ryan Jaggasar, along with his parents went to a family gathering on Saturday.
Police said relatives realised the child was missing at 5 pm and a frantic search was made for him.
The search, police said, ended when they found Jaggasar’s body floating in a swimming pool of the relative’s home located at Balmain, Couva.
The child was taken out and carried to the Couva Hosiptal where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the child lived in Longdenville with his parents.
On April 4, Maria Khan drowned at a family play pool in Gasparillo, one week after Asaiah Josiah, 7, drowned in a backyard swimming pool at his grandparents’ home in Tableland on March 30.
