The pro­pri­etress of an agri­cul­tur­al sup­plies and seedling es­tab­lish­ment shot and killed an armed ban­dit on the premis­es in Cunu­pia yes­ter­day.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, a man wear­ing blue over­alls and armed with a firearm en­tered the Agri­cul­tur­al Sup­plies and Seedling Com­pa­ny (ASAS­CO) around 1 pm and de­mand­ed cash from the woman.

The ban­dit took the busi­ness own­er to an­oth­er room and re­lieved her of a quan­ti­ty of cash and jew­ellery at gun­point.

The woman drew her li­cenced firearm and fired sev­er­al shots at the ban­dit.

He died at the scene.

Se­cu­ri­ty guard gunned down in Point

In what po­lice be­lieve was a drug-re­lat­ed hit, a Point Fortin se­cu­ri­ty guard was gunned down while stand­ing out­side his home on Fri­day.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said Ikim Best, 32, was work­ing on a ve­hi­cle parked out­side his Cir­cu­lar Road, Fran­cis Lane, War­den Road home, around 6 pm, when a gun­man walked up to him and fired two shots, hit­ting him on the head.

Of­fi­cers of the Re­gion Three Homi­cide Bu­reau vis­it­ed the scene. Po­lice said Best worked at the Princes Town branch of Per­sad’s Su­per­mar­ket.

Po­lice ques­tions sus­pect in To­ba­go killing

A sus­pect was be­ing ques­tioned yes­ter­day by po­lice in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of a To­ba­go man on Fri­day night. De­on Daniel, 41, of Idlewild Trace, Scar­bor­ough, is To­ba­go's eighth mur­der vic­tim for 2022 so far.  

An em­ploy­ee of the THA Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, po­lice said Daniel's body was dis­cov­ered by a rel­a­tive short­ly af­ter 8 pm. He was ly­ing face down in a pool of blood at the bot­tom of a stair­case. His body bore chop wounds. Ac­cord­ing to ini­tial re­ports, Daniel got in­to an ar­gu­ment with some peo­ple ear­li­er that day. Scar­bor­ough po­lice and de­tec­tives of the Homi­cide Di­vi­sion are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
