Several camouflage kits, a quantity of marijuana, one revolver, one silver and black 9mm Ruger pistol along with one magazine and 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition were found and seized in the Morvant area on Thursday morning.
According to a police report, the seizure was made during an operation suppression exercise conducted between 4 am to 9 am in the North Eastern Division focusing on Sawmill Avenue, Small Street and Garrick Street Morvant areas.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt Ramjohn, ASP Parriman, lnsp Bharath and coordinated by Ag/Sgt Martin, Ag/Sgt Quashie; supervised by Cpl Daniel, Ag/CpI Duncan, Ag/Cpl Ramkissoon, Ag/CpI George and included members of the North Eastern Division Task Force, Morvant CID, NED Gang Unit, NED CSI, Coastal Patrol Unit, CID.
Patrol Staff, NED Traffic Staff, K9 Unit and the Air Support Unit. Police said several search warrants were executed and several people were arrested for shooting and robbery offences.
Meanwhile, several camouflage kits, a quantity of marijuana with a weight of 30 grammes, one chrome and black revolver with the serial number filed off, one silver and black 9mm Ruger pistol along with one magazine and 10 rounds 9mm ammunition were found and seized in a bushy area. The exercise was incident free.
