Police shot and killed a man in Carenage today after he allegedly threatened to kill two officers who attempted to serve a warrant to him at his home.
The victim has been identified as Anthony Junior Skinner of Smith Hill, Carenage.
According to a police report, at about 12.45 pm officers went to Skinner’s house at Smith Hill allegedly with a search warrant for guns and ammunition.
Police said after they identified themselves to him and what they were there for, Skinner pointed a gun at them threatening to shoot.
The officers were forced to open fire on him after he refused to disarm himself. Skinner, who was shot multiple times about his body was subsequently taken to the St James Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
