Lovers of East Indian music were treated to contemporary and classical songs on Saturday night at the annual Solo Beverages Mother's Day concert at the Centre Pointe Mall, Chaguanas.
The show began shortly after 8 pm with newcomer Karishma Dowtal gracing the stage.
Young Karishma is the grand-daughter of Indian Classical singing legend Jameer Hosein and won the ASJA Caribbean Quaseeda singing competition in 2009.
She went on to perform some of her grandfather's hits. Another newcomer Rishi Nowbutt followed with a string of hits before making way for Neval Chatelal, the joint winner of the 2019 Chutney Soca Monarch crown.
Chatelal performed wave of modern Bollywood hits before closing a near 45-minute performance with the song London Thumaka.
He made way for Nishard M, whom he shared the Chutney Soca Monarch crown, around 10 pm.
Nishard M performance was dedicated to mothers in the audience.
Also carded to perform was Guyanese performer Ben Parag.
