The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard with the assistance of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard says that they have conducted searches in the South Coast and the Gulf of Paria with no sighting of the missing vessel or the persons. On Monday, 04 October, 2021, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard received reports indicating that three (3) persons left Moruga to go fishing, on Tuesday, 28 September, 2021 and had not returned. Upon receiving the report, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard commenced a Search and Rescue operation with the assistance of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard. Thus far searches have been conducted of the South Coast of Trinidad and in the Gulf of Paria with no sighting of the missing vessel or the persons. The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard continues to monitor the areas under national jurisdiction and has been liaising with Venezuelan authorities on the situation.
