Police officers acting swiftly on the report of an abduction were able to rescue the victim and arrest the three alleged abductors yesterday.
According to a police report, at about 1 pm, the victim - a 20-year-old man - was abducted from his home at Antigua Road, Wallerfield, by three men.
Relatives made a report and an all-points bulletin was issued on the vehicle.
Police motorcyclist PC Seebaran later noticed the vehicle and started following it and together with members of the Northern Division Task Force Area East, including Cpl Sookram, WPC Caruth, PCs Mohan and Pacific. The officers intercepted the car near Price Smart, Mausica, where the victim was rescued and the abductors taken into custody.
Two of the suspects, police said, are from Morvant while the third is from La Horquetta. Up to last night, the three men were said to be assisting police in their investigations.
The victim was taken to the hospital for medical care.
Investigations are continuing.
