The country has recorded ten new cases of the Delta variant and according to the Ministry of Health, seven of those who tested for the variant of COVID-19 are not vaccinated, while only two were fully vaccinated.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases take the overall number of Delta variant cases to 86.
Yesterday the ministry also gave an additional breakdown of the cases, saying nine out of the ten patients had no travel history, while eight had prior contact with other positive patients.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry also revealed eight COVID-19 deaths.
Among those who lost their battle to the virus were an elderly male and one middle-aged female without any comorbidities.
In addition, one elderly male, two elderly females and three middle-aged males with comorbidities also succumbed to the virus.
These brought the overall death toll to 1,621 cases.
Yesterday the ministry also recorded 218 new positive cases.
