Political Leader of the PNM's Tobago Council, Ancil Dennis has said that the situation which now exists in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is not what the people of Tobago had in mind.
This follows the resignation of THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and 15 members of the THA from the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP).
Only Watson Duke remains a PDP member in the THA.
Commenting on the development via a Facebook post, Dennis said, "We now have two PNM, one PDP, and 16 ‘nowhererians’ in our THA. For the first time in our history, our island is managed by a team of defectors with no fixed place of abode. This is unprecedented, undemocratic, and perhaps unconstitutional. This is certainly not what Tobagonians had in mind; more challenging times ahead."
Dennis was reelected PNM Tobago leader following the resignation of Tracy Davidson-Celestine after the PNM last the THA election 11-1 to the PDP last year on December 6 last year.
