One day after police officers raided the offices of the Drugs Sou Sou (DSS) in La Horquetta and seized over $6 million, diehard supporters have set up a Gofundme account to assist with legal fees that they believe are likely to follow.
The account was set up shortly before 1 pm today. Up to 5 pm $3,545 had been already donated.
The goal is $100,000.One of the donators commented, “We helped every other race for years without second-guessing…it’s time black people start to help their own, so let’s start by Preeze who is a young black man who is helping his black people. Great is the DSS.”One of the administrators for the account assured that “DSS will not go down without a fight. Financial freedom is a must!! Doing it for my people, we’re in this together.
“DSS’ founder Kerron Clarke claimed that while there are several businesses similar to his across the country, for some reason the DSS has found itself continuously targeted by the Police Service. He claimed that he has suffered loss of business and experienced discrimination by underhand institutions.”What am I doing? What am I doing wrong? That’s the major question I’m asking,” Clarke said during a press conference at the Port-of-Spain offices of his attorneys on Wednesday.“It’s not a crime for anyone to take their hard-earned money and place it anywhere they choose to, upon their free time,” Clarke said.
