Two guns and a quantity of ammunition were found during exercises conducted in Northern Division early this morning.
According to official police reports, in the first incident, information obtained led Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) officers to the Lluengo, Maracas, St Joseph area, where a birthday party was being held for a priority offender in the Maracas-St Joseph Station District.
The officers on exercise—Sgt La Pierre, PC John, and other members of the NDTF West—searched a bushy area at that location and during the search, found and seized one homemade shot gun together with one 12-guage round.
Also, in the Northern Division, Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) officers went to Recreation Ground Road in D’Abadie and searched the pavilion there.
They found and seized one Beretta fitted with one magazine containing four rounds of .32 ammunition, one Glock 17 magazine with four rounds of ammunition.
This exercise was coordinated by Insp Ashby, and supervised by Sgt Ali and Cpl Simmons.
No one was arrested.
Investigations are ongoing.
