An early morning fire broke out at an HDC apartment in Maloney on Wednesday.
The fire started at about 4 am.
In a release, HDC's corporate communications unit confirmed that there was a fire at a three-bedroom apartment located at Building 16, Maloney Gardens.
There were said to be no injuries and that fire officials who responded were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent units.
"Officials from the HDC's Health and Safety Department and the Social and Community Services Department have been directed to visit the site to conduct an investigation. Psycho-social support, once requested, will be provided to the tenants. Consideration will be also given to the provision of "emergency" housing for the affected tenants, " the HDC said.
Fire officials are yet to determine what caused the fire.
The apartment was registered to one owner.
