The Honourable Stuart Young, M.P., Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister met with the newly appointed ambassador, His Excellency Alvaro Enrique Sánchez Cordero, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela on Friday 13 May 2022.
They discussed the importance of the relationship between both countries and provided a commitment to the relationship.

The Honourable Stuart Young, M.P., Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister received an introductory courtesy call from the newly appointed ambassador, His Excellency Alvaro Enrique Sánchez Cordero, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela on Friday 13th May 2022.
His Excellency, a career diplomat, was chargé d'affaires of the Venezuelan embassy in Barbados since June 2018, before assuming his new role in Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister Young welcomed him and confirmed the importance of the relationship between both countries and provided a commitment to the relationship.
His Excellency Alvaro Enrique Sánchez Cordero replaced the outgoing Ambassador, His Excellency Carlos Amador Perez Silva who is now appointed to Guyana.
