For­mer Clerk of the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Jacqui Samp­son Meiguel is now the Om­buds­man of Trinidad and To­ba­go. 

She was sworn in  Speak­er Bridgid An­nisette-George, MP. She will serve for a pe­ri­od of three years. Mrs. Samp­son Meiguel is an at­tor­ney-at-law and a for­mer Clerk of the House, hav­ing served in that ca­pac­i­ty from 1995 to 2024. She brings to the of­fice her many years of ex­pe­ri­ence in pub­lic ser­vice as a se­nior man­ag­er and ac­count­ing of­fi­cer.

Jacqui Samp­son Meiguel re­tired in Oc­to­ber last year af­ter 37 years as Clerk.
